A New Era: Introducing Era Living’s New CEO

As we mark a new year, we’re excited to announce the start of another exciting chapter for Era Living. Effective January 1, we have a new Chief Executive Officer, Nisan Harel.

A Familiar Face to Guide Our Communities Forward

Many residents, families, and team members know Nisan as a longtime leader at Era Living. He has spent 17 years in different management roles — most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer. As CEO, he will head the company’s eight family-owned senior living communities in the Greater Seattle area.

Building on a Tradition of Excellence

As Nisan steps into the role of CEO, he continues to have the steady support of Era Living’s founders, Eli and Rebecca Almo, who started the company nearly 40 years ago. As part of the leadership transition, they will continue to serve as Co-President and Co-Founder. Their focus will remain centered on the organization’s guiding mission: to respect and honor older adults by enhancing the quality of their lives.

In announcing this leadership change, Eli and Rebecca acknowledged the outstanding care provided by the entire Era Living team. “It’s because of your continued commitment that Era Living continues to flourish,” they said.

They also shared their trust and confidence in Nisan to chart Era Living’s next chapter. “Through his trustworthy and collaborative leadership style and his extensive experience across operations, capital projects, and community management, Nisan has developed a deep understanding of our culture and what it takes for the organization to thrive.”

Poised for Continued Success

With his experience and passion for senior living, Nisan is uniquely positioned to advance Era Living’s ideals and build on the organization’s success. His prior management roles include Regional Director of Operations as well as Executive Director at several Era Living communities, where he learned about our industry and day-to-day culture firsthand.

When Nisan is not focusing on ways to support Era Living’s residents and staff, his personal hobbies and interests include basketball, soccer, pickleball, cheering on the Seattle Seahawks, and spending time with his family. He’s also an enthusiastic lifelong learner and enjoys reading non-fiction.

In both his personal and professional life, Nisan exemplifies Era Living’s values of respect, integrity, innovation, improvement, teamwork, and excellence.
